On the temperature dependence of elasticity of thermo-reversible gels

چکیده
2014 In order to explain the temperature dependence of elasticity of thermo-reversible gels, a simple model is proposed It assumes that the gel consists of Langevin chains whose both ends are loosely fixed in crystalline junction regions in such a way that the segments near each end are bound densely in one of the junction region. The segments are assumed to be released from the junction with increasing temperature just as gas molecules evaporate or sublimate from the condensed phase. When all the segments in one of the both ends are liberated from the junction, the chain would cease to contribute to the elasticity. The elastic modulus of the gel is estimated numerically by means of statistical mechanics and the characteristic behaviour of the temperature dependence of thermoreversible gels is shown to be well reproduced on the basis of this model. A Molecular Picture for the Thermo-Reversibility of Gels Formed by Isophthalic Acid- Ended Telechelic Polymers
We demonstrate that isophthalic acid-ended telechelic poly(1,5-cyclooctadiene)s (APCODs) form thermo-reversible gels in non-polar solvent with a unique molecular mechanism for their thermo-reversibility. Like other associative telechelic polymers, A-PCODs form “flower-like” micelles at low concentration and form gels through bridging at higher concentration which exhibit linear viscoelasticity....

An Exact Solution for Classic Coupled Magneto-Thermo-Elasticity in Cylindrical Coordinates
In this paper, the classic coupled Magneto-thermo-elasticity model of hollow and solid cylinders under radial-symmetric loading condition (r, t) is considered. A full analytical and the direct method based on Fourier Hankel series and Laplace transform is used, and an exact unique solution of the classic coupled equations is presented. The thermal and mechanical boundary conditions, the body fo...
متن کاملDamping Ratio in Micro-Beam Resonators Based on Magneto-Thermo-Elasticity
This paper investigates damping ratio in micro-beam resonators based on magneto-thermo-elasticity. A unique aspect of the present study is the effect of permanent magnetic field on the stiffness and thermo-elastic damping of the micro resonators. In our modeling the theory of thermo-elasticity with interacting of an externally applied permanent magnetic field is taken into account. Combined the...

Present paper is devoted to stress and deformation analyses of heated variable thickness functionally graded (FG) circular plate with clamped supported, embedded on a gradient elastic foundation and subjected to non-uniform transverse load. The plate is coupled by an elastic medium which is simulated as a Winkler- Pasternak foundation with gradient coefficients in the radial and circumferential...
